What Is Custom Tinting?
This service allows you to choose the exact color of your eyeglass lenses. You can have sunglasses (with or without a prescription) or prescription lenses tinted in a color other than the standard one.
We offer two types of tinting:
· Uniform tint: the entire lens is the same shade, with the intensity of your choice.
· Gradient tint: the lens transitions from a darker shade at the top to a clear or lighter shade at the bottom.
We offer these options exclusively in-store so you can see the shades, intensities, and gradients on actual samples before making your decision.
What Are Tinted Lenses and What Are They Used For
Tinted lenses are eyeglass lenses that have been colored through a technical process. Unlike standard clear lenses, they absorb some of the visible light and change the way you perceive your surroundings.
They are used for three reasons:
· Aesthetics: to customize the look of your glasses with a color of your choice, beyond the classic clear option.
· Functional: to reduce glare and eye strain in bright light conditions.
· As sunglasses: if the tint is dark enough (category 3), tinted lenses serve the same purpose as conventional sunglasses.
They can be applied to prescription or non-prescription lenses. And they can be a solid color or feature a gradient effect.

Our shades range from classic (brown, gray, bottle green) to more unique (pink, sky blue, mustard, purple). You can choose between lighter or deeper shades depending on how you plan to wear your glasses. You’ll see them all in-store, mounted on actual frames, so you can choose without having to guess.
Prescription Tinted Lenses
If you need prescription sunglasses, we can do both at the same time: we’ll fit them with the prescription you need and apply the tint in the color of your choice. The result is a pair of prescription sunglasses made just for you—not off the shelf.
How the In-Store Process Works
1. Visit any of our stores.
2. Your specialist will show you the 20 colors using actual samples.
3. You choose the shade, intensity, and whether you want a uniform tint or a gradient.
4. We take care of the entire process, including prescription fitting if applicable. The eye exam is included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do tinted windows protect against the sun and UV rays?
Yes. All of our tinted lenses include a UV filter and an anti-reflective coating, so protection against ultraviolet rays is guaranteed from the very beginning. What changes with the color is how much visible light they let through: lighter tints are usually category 1 or 2 (they protect your eyes but look less dark to the eye), while a darker tint (category 3) is equivalent to conventional sunglasses.
If you plan to use them as sunglasses for intense outdoor activities (driving, the beach, the mountains), your specialist will recommend the colors and tints that ensure adequate protection.

What is the difference between tinted lenses and photochromic lenses?
Tinted lenses have a fixed, permanent color that is applied during manufacturing. Photochromic lenses automatically change shade depending on light intensity: they darken in the sun and lighten indoors. Both types can be prescription lenses. The choice between the two depends on your needs: if you want a stable, consistent color, choose tinted lenses. If you prefer glasses that automatically adapt to each situation, choose photochromic lenses.
Is tinting available for sunglasses or for prescription glasses as well?
For both. You can have non-prescription lenses or prescription lenses tinted. The tinting service is applied to the lenses before they are mounted in the frames.
Can I have the lenses of my current glasses tinted?
You cannot apply the tint to them. If the lenses are old or scratched, we recommend replacing them first.
Can I bring my own frame for the tinting service?
Yes. You can bring in your frames, and we’ll apply the tinting service to new lenses that we fit into them. Before we begin, your specialist will check in-store to make sure your frames are compatible with the type of tinted lenses you’ve chosen. The tint is always applied to new lenses, not to the lenses you were already wearing.
Can I choose an ombre hair color in any shade?
The gradient is available in green, gray, brown, and blue.
Can I tint photochromic lenses?
Photochromic lenses cannot be further customized with additional tinting. However, we have a specific range of colors that we'll show you in-store.
Can I change my mind about the color later?
The tint is permanent. That's why we show you physical samples before applying it. If you want to change the color later, the process involves replacing the lenses.
