  • Blue light filter glasses

  • Blue light filter glasses help protect your eyes from artificial blue light emitted by devices such as smartphones, televisions, tablets or computer screens . These digital devices with an LED light source can be more damaging to your eyes than any natural blue light.

  • Why is it important to filter blue light?

  • We spend an average of 9 hours with our eyes in front of digital devices that emit a blue-violet light that we are not prepared for and that can be harmful to our eyesight . This “overexposure” to blue light can cause collateral damage such as eye fatigue, dry or irritated eyes, sleep disturbances and even eye damage.

  • What are blue filter glasses for?

  • The BLUE SAFE lenses on our blue light blocking glasses block harmful high energy visible (HEV) light rays and provide 100% UV protection.

  • With the blue filter treatment , our glasses will reflect the blue-violet light and prevent light between 400 and 500 nm from reaching the retina. In short, our glasses for screens will act as a protector, favouring a more relaxed vision when faced with the LED light emitted by digital devices.
  • What is blue light?

  • Blue light is part of visible light. It is emitted by natural sources such as the sun and also by artificial sources such as electronic devices. Explained in a very simple way, visible light is made up of coloured lights. The visible spectrum of these “small parts” is orange, violet… and blue. In the different colours there is a wavelength that depends on when we get close to ultraviolet rays or infrared rays (which are the limits). In the case of blue light it is very close to ultraviolet rays so the wavelength is very short.

  • How can the impacts of overexposure to blue light be reduced?

  • As the use of smartphones, tablets, televisions and computers is becoming a standard part of our daily lives, the risk of overexposure to blue light can be a concern. Here are some tips to minimize the damage it can cause to our eyesight.

  • Use proper lighting. Lighting levels should be constant when using an electronic device. Going from a brightly lit room to a nearly dark one can cause eye fatigue.

  • Reduce the use of electronic devices at night. As we have already mentioned, blue light can cause sleep disturbances, so it is advisable to stop using electronic devices a while before going to sleep.

  • Use blue light filter glasses. Blue light filter glasses act as a barrier, minimizing the damage that overexposure to this light can cause.
