Goal 6: Clean water and sanitation One of our goals this year was to minimise water consumption at our shops by employing an automatic tap system that prevents unnecessary squandering and thoroughly controls consumption. Goal 7: Affordable and clean energy
In 2019, we decided to use 100% renewable energies at 100% of our shops. In June 2020, we achieved this goal through our agreement with the companies HOLALUZ and GANA ENERGÍA.
Goal 12: Responsible production and consumption
We are completely against excessive consumerism. We create long-lasting products of the highest quality at reasonable prices. 2021 achievements Since February 2021, we have only worked with companies that have signed our code of conduct. Keep reducing our greenhouse gas emissions.

Promote and increase our reuse programme by 20%

Environmental footprint Our objective is to obtain better knowledge of the environmental impact we cause, with regard to the emissions we emit, eutrophication, water consumption and waste management during each of our production stages. Transparent eyeglasses Because we wanted you to see what’s behind each material and product, one of our commitments for 2021 was to measure impact. we call our project ‘transparent eyeglasses’.
Materials: we use materials responsibly to make strong and robust frames. given the reduction in environmental impact achieved by replacing traditional acetate with bio or recycled acetate, we are now working on increasing the percentage composition of these materials in our collections. Packaging: our cleaning cloths are produced from Rpet, which means any pet-based material that originates from a recycled source instead of from an unprocessed petrochemical raw material.
Supply chain one key feature of our supply chain is transport. we are aware that our overall production and impact of the logistics phase affect our company’s environmental impact. for this reason, we will increase sea transport by 20% during the upcoming year. Social compliance of our supply chain: code of conduct we have set a target: our suppliers must comply with our code of conduct if they want to be part of the miller & marc supply chain. our code of conduct is based on 10 core areas:

Carbon footprint To measure our carbon footprint, we followed the GHG protocol, a world standard for measuring and reporting emissions.
We bore in mind two main indicators: firstly, the fossil fuel combustion used at our headquarters and 11 shops and, secondly, emissions related to electricity consumption at all of our facilities. we have reduced our carbon footprint, thanks to working with HOLALUZ and gana energía, achieving 100% renewable energy at all of our shops. we have therefore complied with SDG 7: clean and affordable energy.
Retail
We have 12 physical shops in Spain. we want to be sure that wherever we are, we do not leave a large footprint. We employ 100% renewable energy at our shops. renewable energy sources do not emit carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming. We consumed a total of 210 m3 of water at our facilities. by installing smart taps, we saved 36% in water used.
