Why are glasses that darken when the sunlight hits useful?
Photochromatic lenses transform from their original clear form to a tinted hue, either gray, brown or dark green. They are prescription glasses that darken with sunlight, so there 's no need to change from your regular glasses to sunglasses. They also help reduce glare, visual fatigue and have a higher UV ray protection than regular glasses. Bingo!
But wait, there’s more! Photochromatic glasses are available in every kind of lens. Progressive, monofocal, reading glasses, you name it!
They also include anti-reflection and anti-scratch treatment and 100% protection against UVA and UVB rays. How do they work?
They will only darken when they come in contact with sunlight. This means, they won’t change their color if exposed to artificial light, that’s why they remain completely clear in interior spaces.
The level of darkness and speed of their transformation will depend on the level of exposure to UV light and the temperature. The technology that allows this is placed inside the lens, so there’s no risk of it getting scratched or damaged. How can I purchase my photochromatic glasses online?
