2. Contact lenses are made of highly permeable materials, so eye drops should not be used with them unless explicitly indicated by your optician.
3. If you wear makeup, you will have to put the contact lenses on before doing it, and remove them before removing your makeup.
4. Always wash your hands before handling the contact lenses, change the liquid in the case each time you use them, and rinse it once a week with water.

• At what age is it advisable to start wearing contact lenses?

  There is no pre-established age for it. A person is considered to be able to wear contact lenses when he is able to put them on and take them off himself and can carry out the hygiene and care tasks they require.

• I want to start wearing contact lenses, how do I do it?

  The ideal is to carry out an adaptation study to find out which is the ideal contact lens for each eye. We will do this depending on the use to be made of them, the prescription…

• There are hydrogel and silicone contact lenses, which one do I choose?

  The silicone hydrogel has certain advantages over the classic hydrogel: it has a much higher oxygen permeability than the second, for example, which will allow our cornea to be much more oxygenated and we will be able to wear the lenses for longer in a healthy way. They also dry out less, which favors a feeling of comfort. Silicone hydrogel is especially important in monthly replacement lenses. The daily ones, being disposable, if they are of quality, allow adequate oxygenation.

• Will I have the same prescription in glasses as in contact lenses?

  The distance at which the corrective lens is from our eye affects the prescription, so it is usual that the prescription of the glasses is not the same as that of the contact lenses.

  This difference is greater the higher the prescription: with prescriptions lower than 4 diopters there is usually no difference between glasses and contact lenses, from 4 yes.
